World premiere

Expo Exhibition

The famous Philippe Geluck’s Cat is going to have his own square in Hotton.
The humorist and cartoonist Philippe Geluck came in Hotton on April 9th, 2008, with a view to devising the first guidelines for a project that will result in the inauguration of the first “Cat Square”, named after the famous comic strip character created by Philippe Geluck 20 years ago.

After a square where to erect the “Cat” statue had been found, Philippe Geluck attended a work meeting with the Junior municipal councillors, who are carrying out the project with the famous cartoonist. The pupils from the neighbourhood schools as well as the Cultural Centre, the Library and the Miroir Vagabond are involved in the project.

After the inauguration in October the bronze statue representing the picturesque character will be set in the center of the Quartier de Rahisse, which will be named as “Cat Square”. We still do not know much about that statue and its symbolic but it will undoubtedly deliver a message in favour of eco-friendliness and long-term development.

After the Ecole Enrico Macias, another world premiere inauguration will be held in Hotton in October: the first “Cat Square” ever.
