FISHING PERMIT ISSUED BY THE WALLOON REGION
The “OURTHE BANALE” is categorized as floatable or navigable waters; fishing is submitted to a permit issued by the Walloon Region.
You can get that permit on simple request and upon presentation of identity documents at any post office in the Walloon Region.
That individual permit remains valid throughout the current year.
(Don’t forget to mention the code corresponding to the province where you usually go fishing;
4 for Luxembourg).
Children under 14 years are allowed to fish without a permit if they are accompanied by a regular permit owner over 18 years of age, on Saturdays, Sundays, bank and school holidays; they are only allowed to use a single hand line with a simple hook.
(The number of accompanying children is limited to 4).
The law makes provision for 5 fishing periods:
- 1st period
from JANUARY 1st till FEBRUARY 28th
ALL KINDS OF FISH
(except pikes, perches, zanders, graylings, trouts)
- 2nd period
from MARCH 1st till the FRIDAY preceding the 3rd SATURDAY in MARCH
FORBIDDEN FISHING
- 3rd period
from the 3rd SATURDAY in MARCH till the FRIDAY preceding the 1st SATURDAY in JUNE
TROUT FISHING
N.B. : Only fishing with man-made flies, without fishing weight or outbuilding, from the river bank, is allowed.
- 4th period
from the 1st SATURDAY in JUNE till SEPTEMBER 30th
ALL KINDS OF FISH

from OCTOBER 1st till DECEMBER 31st
