Handicontact-Handycity
- In collaboration with the AWIPH (Walloon Agency for Integration of Handicapped People) and the Hotton CPAS (Public Centre for Community Action), the Municipality designated a reference person in field of handicap, Nathalie Widart as “handicontact “. Her office is located in the CPAS premises.
- The « handicontact » is an intermediary person whose main objectives are to inform and to advise any handicapped people, as well as their family, to help them undertake all steps and to direct them to services which are qualified to meet their requirements.
- NEW : the FPS Social Security, Directorate General Disabled Persons (DGPH) in HOTTON :
From September 2012, the first thursday of each month from 9am to 11:30 am, a social worker SPF-DGPH ensure a social permanence in the premises of CPAS, rue des Ecoles, 29. - Creation of an Advisory Council of Persons with Disabilities (ACPD) :
- Objective : to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and access to goods ervices, - Open to all valid and less valid, associations and actors working or not people with handicapped people. - Label Handycity 2012 : As part of the campaign "You, me, we all equal before the town," Socialist Association of Persons with Disabilities (ASPH) has awarded the label "Handycity, Quality of Life Town and Handicap" to 54 commons in Walloon and Brussels, including Hotton. This label is intended to support municipalities to encourage the integration of disabled people in many facets of community life. This award is the result of a course of 5 years, which began in 2007 under the Charter of the Integration of Disabled Person.
